Unplastic Girls
A conceptual doll project exploring representation, materiality and presence.

Concept
Unplastic Girls reimagines dolls without glossy perfection. Each character is designed to feel human – individual, imperfect and real.

Each character reflects a different lived experience.
Not as labels, but as lived realities.
Insight
Dolls shape how we learn to see bodies, beauty and identity. Most still follow the same narrow visual language.
Unplastic Girls gently shifts that language – without exaggeration or spectacle.

Design Approach
• No plastic shine
• No perfect symmetry
• Realistic textures
• Calm, neutral colour palette
• Each doll as an individual presence

The Dolls
Each doll represents a different body and presence. Not as a statement – but as a normality.

Visual Language
A soft, editorial aesthetic inspired by fashion and product photography. Minimal composition lets the characters speak for themselves.

Social Concept
Unplastic Girls exists naturally in social media – as portraits, details and quiet moments.
No slogans. No selling.

Exploration
This project clarified one thing: aesthetics are never innocent. AI and digital compositing can either reinforce old ideals – or help redesign them.
Summary
A concept project that challenges traditional beauty standards by imagining dolls without plastic perfection. The visual world highlights diversity, imperfections and realistic body features to question how ideals are shaped – and who they are made for.
